The northernmost Páramo that exists throughout the Americas is located in Costa Rica, in the Cordillera de Talamanca, its vegetation being very similar to that found in the Andes Mountains in South America. The tour starts after breakfast, with a transfer from the hotel to the highland desert, 40 minutes from where the journey begins. There is also the option of walking all from the hotel. The approximate travel time is of 3.5 hours, including transportation. Expect average temperatures of around 13 degrees Celsius and an altitude of 3000-3492 above sea level.
