Our Recommendations
1. You can arrive before your check-in time, leave your vehicle in the parking lot, and enjoy the area and facilities early, or once you have checked out. If your departure is on a Sunday and you would like to join us for lunch that day, please inquire about the availability of a complimentary late check-out.
2. Remember that if you need to check in after 8:00 PM, you must inform us in advance to coordinate your arrival and prepare the room. This service may involve modifying the assigned room to the same type and amenities but closer to the restaurant.
3. When going for walks and activities, we recommend wearing comfortable, closed-toe shoes. If you are visiting us in winter, bringing a coat, a poncho, and an umbrella is a great idea.
4. Being a rural and mountainous area, there is only Kölbi (ICE) coverage for phone and internet service.
5. Your pet is welcome on our premises, and we appreciate your consideration of our pet policy.
6. Before leaving home, remember to do a general check of your vehicle. There are no gas stations near the hotel, so we recommend bringing enough fuel for the entire trip.
As you enter San Gerardo de Dota, drive slowly and carefully, and compress the vehicle to avoid overheating the brakes.
7. San Gerardo de Dota is located at 2,200 meters above sea level, so it is normal for temperatures to drop significantly in the afternoons and evenings. We recommend bringing warm clothing for sleeping.
8. Apps like Google Maps or Waze are ideal for plotting your route to the hotel and back. They will help you visualize the entrance to San Gerardo de Dota, as well as tourist areas, traffic, and travel time, even without an internet connection.
9. The journey from San José takes approximately one and a half hours; however, at night, the Inter-American highway often has fog, which can delay your arrival time. Please remember to notify the hotel by calling to coordinate your arrival.
PET POLICY
For the community of our guests and in line with our ideology of being a family-friendly hotel, at Hotel de Montaña and Restaurant Suria, we welcome pets. We know they are also part of your family.
1. Hotel Suria reserves the right to admit any pet based on the criteria of comfort and tranquility for all guests (both people and animals) equally.
2. Every pet must bring its bed, blanket, and any other items it needs for sleeping, as the hotel does not currently provide these amenities.
3. Pets are not allowed on beds; therefore, it is also prohibited to use hotel bedding to cover or lay your pet in the room or outside of it. Violating this rule will incur a penalty of $100.
4. All pets must always be under the supervision of a responsible adult.
5. The owner is REQUIRED to pick up their pet’s waste in any area of the hotel, including the gardens. Please consult with the staff about where to dispose of it.
6. Pets cannot be left alone in the room at any time.
7. The Bar|Restaurant, Terrace, gardens, and other common areas are pet-friendly zones. Any damage caused by the pet to the property is the owner’s responsibility, and they will be liable for the cost.
We hope that you, your family, and your pet have a memorable experience at Hotel de Montaña and Restaurant Suria. We kindly ask you to follow the instructions and recommendations outlined in this policy.
Sincerely,
Management.
